Bayliner to sponsor Discover Boating

CHICAGO – Bayliner will sponsor the Discover Boating & Fishing Tour for the third consecutive year, providing a Bayliner 175 for the mobile marketing program that kicks off its seven-month national tour at the Lilac Festival in Rochester, N.Y. May 13, the National Marine Manufacturers Association reported in a release.

Matthew Vetzner, director of marketing for Bayliner, says the company is proud that it has supported the tour from the beginning, and that it’s participation has been a benefit for the company.

“The tour has put the Bayliner brand in front of tens of thousands of people who have an interest in boating and who appear to match Bayliner’s customer base and brand position,” Vetzner said.

The Bayliner 175 will be part of the new “Mini Boat Show” portion of the mobile marketing display, which will highlight the activities that can be enjoyed on specific boat types. Attendees can also register to win the boat, which will be given away at the end of the Tour.

“We want to continue to be in front of new-to-boating prospective buyers as well as existing boat owners to sell boats, and to be able to build a database of solid prospects and prospective buyers to sell boats to in the near future,” says Vetzner.

A total of 12 boats will be included in the new Mini Boat Show, compared to the four that were on display in last year’s tour.

Discover Boating director Steve Tadd says that adding more boats to the tour should lead more attendees to take the next steps to becoming boaters themselves.

“Consumers at last year’s Tour were more responsive to our messages when a wider variety of boats were included in the exhibit,” Tadd said.
