Taylor Made expands Georgia plant

GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. – Taylor Made Systems Georgia, a division of Taylor Made Systems, has unveiled a major expansion of its manufacturing facility in Tifton, Ga., the company said in a release today.

The new 115,000 sq. ft. plant opened this week and will manufacture tempered safety glass windshields, canvas and Plexiglas components for sale as OEM products to boatbuilders.

“We opened our original factory in Tifton in 1994, and we have continued to expand our operations there, growing from 13 to more than 100 employees in 2004,” said Randy Parker, president of Taylor Made Systems. “We have been impressed with the professionalism and outstanding work ethic of the Tifton work force, and we expect that our new plant will result in additional new employment opportunities in the Tifton area.”

Rick Johnson, general manager of the Taylor Made Systems Georgia operations, said, “We have developed close ties to the Tifton-area community and economy. Not only are we a major employer, but we also rely heavily on local suppliers of raw materials to manufacture our products.”
