ABYC CD-ROM wins media award

EDGEWATER, Md. – The American Boat & Yacht Council’s Standards and Technical Information Reports for Small Craft on CD-ROM has won a “Silver Award” in the “Web Site/CD Design for an Association” category in the 2004 Association TRENDS All Media Contest, ABYC reported yesterday.

Association TRENDS, an association publication which sponsors the annual contest, received over 248 entries for all categories submitted by both associations and vendors.

Categories were judged using six main categories: appearance, layout, style, content, appropriateness and effectiveness.

Automated Graphic Systems, Inc., ABYC’s vendor for the CD-ROM project, submitted the 50th Anniversary edition of the ABYC Standards & Technical Information Reports on CD-ROM for its distinctive design and software development.

“We are honored that our CD was recognized by the association industry through this annual competition,” said John Adey, ABYC’s technical director. “ABYC works closely with AGS to utilize the most up-to-date technology when developing our standards products (CD and online), and we are continually looking for ways to increase the ease of use and value for our members.”
