MTA/NJ to hold annual conference

BRICK, N.J. – The Marine Trades Association of New Jersey will be holding its second annual conference March 31 – April 1, an educational event organized specifically for marine business owners, operators, employees and anyone involved in recreational boating in New Jersey, MTA/NJ said recently.

The conference will cover a broad range of subjects designed to help attendees manage their businesses more effectively and overcome the challenges facing the marine industry.

Due to the success of the First Annual Conference held last year, the MTA/NJ expanded the agenda for 2005 to two full days.

Some of the conference topics include:

  • A presentation on the Grow Boating campaign
  • The expanded New Jersey “Bring a Buddy Boating” campaign
  • Tips on how to leverage the Internet to attract more customers
  • A Consumer Fraud Act update
  • Maximizing the power of advertising
  • An overview on the new Association of Marina Industries
  • An interactive “Best Profits Ideas” discussion moderated by Jim Frye, president of the Association of Marina Industries and Glenn Mazzella, president of the Marine Retailers Association of America.
  • “The feedback we received from everyone that attended the conference last year was excellent and we are looking forward to an even more successful event this year,” said Melissa Danko, MTA/NJ executive director. “This conference will benefit anyone involved in the recreational boating industry in New Jersey.”
