Brunswick and Mercury Marine sign on as ABC sponsors

WASHINGTON – Brunswick Boat Group and Mercury Marine have come onboard to co-sponsor the Gala Awards Dinner at the American Boating Congress, and Yamaha has also joined them as a Captain-level sponsor, the National Marine Manufacturers Association reported in a recent release.

Tiara Yachts, Pursuit Boats, Webasto Products of North America, and Marinas International have joined the Thomas G. Faria Corp. as First Mate level sponsors. Grady White Boats, Inc., the American Boat and Yacht Council and the Marine Industry Association of South Florida join the Association of Marina Industries and Marine Concepts, Inc. as general sponsors of the legislative conference.

The American Boating Congress is a two-day legislative conference hosted by the National Marine Manufacturers Association in Washington, D.C., that brings together recreational boating industry leaders to formulate public policy and present a unified front on Capitol Hill on issues that impact marine businesses.

ABC will be held in Washington, D.C. on May 1-3, 2005.

“ABC is one of the most important events of the year for NMMA members.
It is our best opportunity to have the industry’s unified voice heard on
Capitol Hill,” said NMMA vice president of Government Relations Monita

“Our corporate sponsors are the key to making ABC a successful event,” said NMMA president Thom Dammrich. “We appreciate the contributions of these generous companies to the boating industry.”

During last year’s American Boating Congress, more members of the boating community lobbied Congress than ever before. Because constituents are the most persuasive lobbyists, NMMA member participation as citizen advocates during ABC significantly contributes to NMMA’s ability to shape public policy and create a more friendly business climate in America, NMMA said.
