Maptech acquires an electronics company

AMESBURY, Mass. – Maptech – a paper, digital charts and marine navigation software maker – has acquired a 65 percent controlling interest in Wytan Corp., a manufacturer of electronics hardware, located in Golden, Colo., Maptech reported in a release today.

For the past three years, the companies have worked closely together in the design, development and building of the Maptech Touch Screen Command technology.

“Maptech and Wytan have worked closely for the past three years and have gained a solid appreciation for each other’s strengths and talents,” Ed Markham, president of Maptech.

Andy Toth, Wytan’s president, adds “With this agreement we are now in an excellent position to take the Touch Screen Technology to its next level.”
