Rybovich Spencer marina to receive $12 million renovation

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – This week, the Huizenga family submitted its plans to invest $12 million in upgrading the Rybovich Spencer marina in West Palm Beach to local, state and government officials, reported the Sun-Sentinel in an article yesterday.

The family, which owns the Rybovich Spencer yacht building and servicing business, last year renovated the Bahia Mar Marina in Fort Lauderdale to better accommodate megayachts. It has similar plans for the Rybovich Spencer facility.

“We’ll be adding 125 wet slips and may build a dry storage building during Phase II of the plan,” Wayne Huizenga Jr. told the newspaper.

The renovation is part of a bigger, $100-million project that could include building over 200 residential units and adding a retail area open to the public on the Rybovich Spencer property, the newspaper reported.

Before construction can get underway, the family must obtain approvals from government agencies. The company expects the marina renovations to begin this summer.
