Vancouver Boat Show is back on

CHICAGO – The Vancouver Boat Show, which had been canceled earlier this week by a labor dispute, is back on again, after the Premier’s office of British Columbia and striking union workers came to a 48-hour “good faith” agreement, allowing the show to proceed, the National Marine Manufacturers Assoication reported in a press release.

The show will begin today at B.C. Place Stadium and run through Sunday. Media pressure and strong lobbying efforts are being credited for turning the tide and creating some movement between the two sides, NMMA said.

A report on Canada.com quoted the show’s manager, Linda Wadell, who said she was “ecstatic” it will take place.
