Strictly Sail Philadelphia draws over 10,000

PHILADELPHIA – More than 10,000 people attended the premier of Sail America’s Strictly Sail Philadelphia at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Jan. 20-23, despite more than a foot of snow, organizers reported in a recent release.

Considering the storm, exhibitors and Strictly Sail Philadelphia organizers report being pleasantly surprised with attendance and the qualifications of the buyers who attended each day of the show.

“We did very well; the show looked great, we had qualified attendees from the moment we opened the doors, many sales were made and exhibitors are saying they are excited to return,” said Scot West, executive director, Sail America.

Sail boats up to 50-feet long were on display within the 200,000-square-foot of convention space.

“It was fantastic to work with the Pennsylvania Convention Center team,” West said. “We had a positive experience here in Philadelphia and would recommend the venue and the city to show organizers in the future. In fact, we_re contracted to return through 2007 and are looking at securing space through 2010.”
