Vector signs agreement with Black and Decker

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Vector Manufacturing, Ltd., a maker of 12-volt portable power products, has signed a licensing deal with Black & Decker Corp., granting Vector an exclusive trademark license for a number of portable power products, including its battery chargers and power inverters, the company said in a recent release.

The licensing agreement grants Vector exclusive rights to manufacture, market and sell battery chargers, jump-starters, power inverters, portable spotlights, flashlights and lanterns under the Black & Decker brand in the United States and Canada.

“With the Black & Decker brand and Vector’s already successful penetration in the automotive, marine and hardware national retailer markets, we will continue to expand the reach of our portable power product lines,” said Michael Krieger, Vector’s founder, president and CEO.

Vector will launch a new premium line of Black & Decker branded products in 2005.

“Black & Decker is excited to enter this partnership with Vector Manufacturing. Both of our companies have set their sights on bringing quality standards and the most relevant innovations to consumer products,” said Carolyn Martin, director of licensing and new business development at Black & Decker.

Vector Manufacturing, based in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., markets more than 150 products, including thermo-electric coolers, portable DC refrigerators, car care electronic appliances, and consumer electronic products.
