New online jobs forum is launched

BROOKLIN, Maine – Professional BoatBuilder magazine is launching a new facet of its Web site, at www.proboatcareers.com, which will provide boatbuilding companies and industry professionals a way to connect in a new employment forum, the company said in a recent release.

Scheduled for a March launch, the new site will be a free service for job candidates searching the employment listings. Companies with job openings can pay a monthly fee to post their employment listings on the site.

Professional BoatBuilder representatives expect the ProBoat Careers Web site to alleviate staffing problems for company owners and HR managers, while making it easier for boatbuilding professionals to advance in their careers.

The search function will allow a job candidate to look for positions in specific fields, by job titles, geographic regions, or by companies.

“While PBB’s ‘Positions’ classifieds represent the leading print help-wanted section in the industry, we feel it will be complemented by the more immediate online job-search tool,” said Carl Cramer, publisher of Professional BoatBuilder magazine. “When we expand PBB’s classifieds to an online database of international positions, employers and prospective employees will have a time-sensitive means of filling critical open positions.”
