BEP Marine acquires U.S. distributor
AUCKLAND, New Zealand – BEP Marine, Ltd., a manufacturer of marine electrical products, acquired its U.S. distributor, Bischoff Marine Electric, Inc., on January 3, the company reported in a recent statement. The new business will be known as BEP Marine, Inc.
“The acquisition of Bischoff Marine Electric, Inc. will give us a strong base of operations to further support our rapid growth in this important market. Through Bischoff Marine Electric, Inc, our US business has grown dramatically in the past two years” said Ross Pratt, sales director for BEP Marine Ltd. “This new venture paves the way for continued growth and is an important part of our international business development strategy”.
Based in Peachtree City, Ga., Bischoff Marine Electric, Inc. opened its doors on Nov. 1, 2002 as the exclusive U.S. distributor for BEP Marine Ltd. Reese Bischoff, founder and president, will remain with the new company as president of BEP Marine, Inc.
“We are excited about the new direction the company is taking,” said Bischoff. “We have enjoyed strong sales growth, not only in the marine industry but in the RV and commercial vehicle markets as well. This new venture will allow BEP Marine to further strengthen its position in the market and to continue build the brand.”
BEP Marine, Inc. will operate out of its current location in Peachtree City, Ga. with plans to move to a larger facility by mid 2005.
