Sponsors signed for 2005 National Marina Day

WASHINGTON – National Marina Day organizers have signed sponsors for the 2005 event, the Association of Marina Industries (AMI), which produces the event, reported in a recent statement.

National Marina Day is an annual nationwide celebration of the role America’s marinas play as gateways to boating and stewards of the environment. In 2005, National Marina Day (NMD) will be observed on August 13.

The sponsors, announced by National Marina Day Co-Chairs Dale Thomas and Dwight Jones, are: Bellingham Marine, of Bellingham, Wash.; The BoatU.S. Cooperating Marina Program, of Alexandria, Va.; Centek Marine Environmental Products, of Thomasville, Ga.; Flagship Marinas, of Dallas, Texas; Formex Manufacturing, of Lawrenceville, Ga.; HydroHoist International, of Claremore, Okla.; Marinas International, of Dallas, Texas; Mansfield Marine Fuels, of Gainesville, Ga.; Premier Materials Technology, of Minneapolis, Minn.; ShoreMaster, Inc., of Camdenton, Mo.; Universal Insurance Services, of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and Valvtect Marine Fuels, of Northbrook, Ill.

“Growing the National Marina Day program is one of our primary goals this year, and our industry sponsorship will go a long way towards marketing this program to a larger segment of the marina industry than ever before,” commented Jones, who also serves as general manager of Elliott Bay Marina in Seattle, Wash.

In March of 2005, the NMD campaign will officially kick-off with a one page bulletin inserted into that month’s edition of AMI’s newsletter and posted on the National Marina Day Web page at www.moaa.com, according to the association. The campaign will elaborate on the 2005 NMD theme and offer suggestions on how marinas can join in the effort to educate public officials about the marina industry. More in-depth materials will follow in the months leading up to the event.

Boating Industry magazine and Marina Dock Age are 2005 National Marina Day joint media sponsors.
