Walker Bay signs Asian distributor

UNION GAP, Wash. – Walker Bay Boats Inc. has signed Woosung I.B. Co. Ltd. as its exclusive distributor for China, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia and South Korea, the company reported in a recent press release.

“Woosung is well positioned to help Walker Bay Boats penetrate the Asian market, which is a core component to our international growth strategy and sales projections.” said Andrew Taylor, president of Walker Bay Boats.

Based in South Korea, Woosung I.B. Co. Ltd, was founded in 1983 and now employs 172 people and exceeded $10 million in sales last year. The company will carry Walker Bay’s full product line and help service signed dealers and promote Walker Bay programs.

“We have chosen to represent the best products & services, which is why buyers want to deal with us and suppliers want to be represented by us,” said Woosung president and CEO Hee Jae Lee.

Woosung also manufactures a line of inflatables and water sports equipment including water park rafts, which will compliment Walker Bay’s current line.

“With our strong focus on export sales this year, Woosung will be pioneering our growth into Asia,” Taylor said.

Walker Bay anticipates over 400 units to be sold this year and a further 1,000 units in the second year. Two containers have already been shipped, one to Thailand and another to Bussan.
