IBBI forms Saltwater Group

BENTON, Ill. – Independent Boat Builders, Inc., a marine industry purchasing cooperative, will be forming a Saltwater Group, IBBI President Tom Broy reported in a release this morning.

“The main focus of this committee, or sub group, will be to investigate and secure purchasing contracts for those items specifically used on saltwater fishing boats,” Broy said. “In the past, IBBI has focused on negotiating purchasing contracts for products that 80 percent of the entire membership uses. We feel that this group will be able to drill down and concentrate more on those items specifically used on saltwater boats.”

The group’s first meeting will be in March, during IBBI’s normally scheduled purchasing meetings. IBBI’s total production of saltwater boats is estimated at over 8,000.
