NBA exec to headline Miami Boat Show luncheon

ORLANDO, Fla. – Pat Williams, senior vice president of the National Basketball Association’s Orlando Magic, has been signed as the headline speaker for the 2005 “Leading with Vision & Values” luncheon at the Miami Boat Show on Feb. 18, event organizers said in a release today.

In addition to his duties with the Magic, Williams is a motivational and humorous speaker who has addressed employees from many of the Fortune 500 companies and the Million Dollar Round Table. He has spent over four decades as a player and executive in professional baseball and basketball, and been affiliated with NBA teams in Chicago, Atlanta, Philadelphia, including the 1983 World Champion 76ers.

Williams co-founded the Orlando Magic in 1987 and helped lead them to the NBA finals in 1995. He and his wife, Ruth, are the parents of 19 children, including 14 adopted from four foreign countries, ranging in age from 18 to 32. Williams is the author of 35 books on a wide range of subjects. His books have been translated into most of the world’s major languages. He has also completed 32 marathons within the last eight years, including the Boston Marathon nine times.

“Our goal for this event is to bring a speaker to our industry that has demonstrated a vision and values driven life strategy and has the ability to motivate others to do the same,” the event’s organizers, the Kuck family of Regal Marine Industries, Inc., said in their release.
