NMD names 2005 committee members
WASHINGTON – The make-up of the 2005 National Marina Day Committee has been determined, revealed NMD Co-Chairs Dale Thomas and Dwight Jones in a press release today.
Joining Thomas and Jones on the 2005 National Marina Day Committee are:
“I’m excited to be working with such a talented and accomplished group of individuals,” said Thomas, Laurel Marina & Yacht Club, Bristol, Tenn. “Each member of the committee brings a unique perspective and experience to the planning of this national event. Collectively, I’m confident that we will be able to plan the largest, most successful event to date.”
The committee’s main tasks are to advise Marina Operators Association of America staff on the preparation of NMD resource kits and to serve as ambassadors in their states and regions for the event.
In March of 2005, the NMD campaign will officially kick-off with a one page bulletin inserted into that month’s newsletter edition of MOAA Messages and posted on the National Marina Day Web page at www.moaa.com. The campaign will elaborate on the 2005 NMD theme and offer suggestions on how marinas can join in the effort to educate public officials about the marina industry. More in-depth materials will follow in the months leading up to the event.
The fourth annual National Marina Day celebration will take place on Aug. 13. Boating Industry magazine and Marina Dock Age are 2005 National Marina Day media sponsors.
