MOAA releases final NMD report
WASHINGTON – The 2004 National Marina Day Final Report was recently mailed to all Marina Operators Association of America members and is now available online at www.moaa.com/nmd, MOAA said in a release Friday.
Copies of the report have also been given to BoatU.S. for distribution to its cooperating marinas, according to Stephen Wakefield, MOAA manager of state government relations and outreach.
MOAA said the 2004 NMD program grew for the third consecutive year, experiencing a 65-percent increase in the total number of participants from 2003. More than 265 marinas in 33 states registered to participate in NMD. In addition, 25 states and the U.S. Congress officially recognized the event with proclamations and resolutions.
National Marina Day is produced by MOAA and is celebrated annually on the second Saturday of August. Information on chairmen, committee members and sponsors of the fourth Annual NMD celebration, set to take place Aug. 13, 2005, will follow in the next few weeks, MOAA said.
