Furuno helps raise funds for USCG Foundation

CAMAS, Wash. – Marine electronic manufacturer Furuno USA, Inc., recently raised funds to help support the U.S. Coast Guard Foundation by distributing coffee mugs at the Pacific Marine Expo, the company said in a press release yesterday.

The mug featured the USCG Cutter Boutwell and a donation of one dollar was suggested for each mug, with all proceeds going to the Foundation.

“It is extremely important for all of us to support our men and women of the USCG and this is just one small way for Furuno to help,” said Jim Atteridge, president of Furuno USA. “We suggested a one dollar donation for each mug and 100 percent of the proceeds will go directly to the Foundation.”

In keeping with the spirit of donating to the Foundation, Furuno USA is matching the total amount raised.

The Coast Guard Foundation is a public nonprofit organization that raises funds to benefit Coast Guard men and women. Its mission is to support projects and programs that enhance the lives and well being of all Coast Guard members, including cadets at the Coast Guard Academy. The Foundation supplies both tangible and intangible benefits, such as: scholarships, education grants, morale funds and recreational facilities to name a few. It was established in 1969.
