Stuart show to be larger in 2005

STUART, Fla. – Despite Hurricanes Frances and Jeanne this past fall, organizers of the 31st Annual Stuart Boat Show expect to meet or exceed the 2004 show tally of 500 boats – 250 in-water and 250 on land – and 150 exhibitor booths, they said in a press release today.

The show is scheduled to take place Jan. 14-16.

“We’re using what’s left of the marina as an anchor that we can build around,” said Rick Allen, show organizer.

The organizational staff has put a significant amount of work into making sure the docks and exhibit area are ready on time, organizers stated. This includes a quarter-mile of new floating docks to make up for storm damage to the marina. 2005 vessels will range from 70-foot cruisers to inflatables, as well as a large selection of boating essentials at the wide variety of booths, and entertainment, music and food. Allen said.
