NMMA reports wholesale dollar boat sales up 18 percent

CHICAGO – Wholesale dollar sales of all boats were up 18 percent for the first eight months of 2004, compared to prior year numbers, while unit boat shipments were up 6.6 percent, according to the August Monthly Shipment Report (MSR) released this week by the National Marine Manufacturers Association.

The traditional powerboat segments, (outboard, sterndrive, and inboard boats) were up 19.9 percent in dollars and up 11.6 percent in units shipped for August year-to-date, compared to the previous year, NMMA reported.
