MarineEast has best year ever

BRICK, N.J. – Marine industry plastic components manufacturer MarineEast had its best year ever in 2004, according to owners David and Barbara Thompson, who spoke at the company’s recent annual sales meeting.

The Thompsons also recognized three sales representatives for their outstanding efforts during the meeting.

Regan O’Rourke of Ozark Marine and RV Sales and Service was named “Sales Rep of the Year” by the company. Based in Eagle Rock, Mo., O’Rourke’s sales were up 135 percent during 2004. O’Rourke was presented with a 1-ounce, gold Canadian Maple Leaf coin.

Colin Bennitt of Wickes Marine in Tiverton, R.I., accepted a Maple Leaf for Wickes’ increased distributor sales. Tim Gray of Cressy Marketing received the “Cachinga Award,” named for the sound a cash register makes, because of his success with OEMs.

“During the first seven months, we were having a banner year,” David Thompson said. “Then, everything slowed when the hurricanes pounded Florida, but sales still finished very strong.”
