British electronics maker selects U.S. distributor

HAMPSHIRE, U.K. – British marine electronics manufacturer, Tacktick Ltd. has appointed Ocean Equipment as its official U.S. distributor for the range of its wireless marine electronics, Tacktick said in a release today.

Located in Irvine, Calif., Ocean Equipment will be responsible for building brand awareness and increasing sales of Tacktick’s marine electronics to U.S. retailers, dealers and OEMs.

“Tacktick is one of the most innovative new companies to emerge on the marine electronics scene and we are very excited to be building the brand and developing their sales in the U.S. market,” said Rob Walsh, president of Ocean Equipment.

Tacktick’s Micronet navigation system, which is powered by a lithium cell charged by a built-in solar panel, is already being fitted as standard by a number of boat builders around the world, the company said.
