US Marine receives MerCruiser certification

FOND DU LAC, Wis. – US Marine has successfully completed the Mercury MerCruiser propulsion-installation quality certification program, which partners boat builders with MerCruiser to improve engine-installation quality and maximize boater satisfaction, it reported in a recent release.

To achieve certification, US Marine worked with Mercury engineers to review its propulsion design and installation processes and Lean Six Sigma practices for increased manufacturing efficiency and process control on the boat plant floor.

US Marine’s completion of the program also produced a two-year Mercury limited engine warranty on all new MerCruiser-powered US Marine boats purchased after June 21, 2004, US Marine’s certification date.

“Achieving Mercury MerCruiser Installation Quality Certified Manufacturer status is a great confirmation of our dedication to quality at Bayliner, Maxum and Trophy,” said Steve Wolpert, president of US Marine

Key areas of focus in the certification program include assembly and component specifications, propulsion-installation processes and standardized end-of-line test procedures. Bayliner, Maxum and Trophy were among the first brands to achieve this key distinction, US Marine said.
