Navman signs European distribution agreement

ACTON, Mass. – Navman NZ Ltd., a unit of Brunswick New Technologies, has signed a new multi-year distribution agreement with Plastimo S.A., covering the distribution of the Navman range of marine electronics in European markets, the company said today.

Navman said the new agreement builds on the relationship between Plastimo and Navman developed over the past 10 years, and also allows the creation of strategic new distribution channels and partners within Europe, including Finland, Norway and Croatia.

“Navman has enjoyed a successful and historical relationship with Plastimo over the past decade,” said Navman Vice President of Marine Marc Michel. “This new distribution agreement will allow Plastimo to focus its considerable resources in both the retail and OEM channels on developing its initiatives to deliver an even higher standard of products and service to Navman customers in the core European markets, whilst allowing for new partnerships in countries where it makes sense.”

The agreement marks a renewed focus by Navman on the importance of the European marine market, and is supported by new investment with the opening of a European marine support office in the south of England in Southampton with an initial staff of three. The new European marine team will be fully focused on supplying increased operational and technical support to Plastimo and the new independent markets as well as providing direct support to the Brunswick European Group’s marine groups, Navman reported.
