FORT PIERCE, Fla. – Power catamaran builder Twin Vee Inc., has managed to ride out the second hurricane in three weeks to hit Florida’s Treasure Coast and is back to the business of building boats, the company said in a press release yesterday.
Twin Vee suffered roof damage to its plant and was without power for eight days after Hurricane Frances, then lost power for four more days as a result of Hurricane Jeanne, but reported it is nevertheless back at full strength today.
However, additional roof damage to the general plant and substantial damage to the building where all of the 32-foot and 36-foot models are produced will cause a few weeks delay in the company’s production schedule.
Twin Vee said that while none of its employees were physically hurt by the storms, several did experience “devastating losses” to their homes.
