Mercury to sponsor Charleston/Savannah Boat Shows

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Mercury Marine will be the presenting sponsor of the Charleston (S.C.) Boat Show, Jan. 28-30, 2005, and the Savannah (Ga.) International Boat Show, March 4-6, 2005, according to a press release from JBM & Associates, LLC, this morning.

“Mercury Marine is proud to be the presenting sponsor of these shows again in 2005,” said Skip Hegel, director of dealer sales for Mercury Marine. “Since first partnering with the Charleston and Savannah Boat Shows last year, our retail sales have increased dramatically within these markets, and we continue to receive a strong response from our dealers and customers throughout coastal Carolina and Georgia.”

The Charleston Boat Show attracts a qualified-targeted boating and fishing audience of more than 7,000 attendees each year. The show has seen a 74-percent increase in attendance over the past three years, due to an extensive marketing and promotions campaign, has become the leading Boat Show in the lowcountry, JBM said.

The Savannah International Boat Show has grown tremendously since its start in 2003, with a following of more than 9,000 qualified boating enthusiasts. The 2004 show saw a 30-percent increase in the number of exhibitors and nearly doubled its amount of exhibit space, according to JBM.
