Record attendance expected for IBEX 2004

CHICAGO – Pre-registration for the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition & Conference – being held Oct. 25–27 at the Miami Beach (Fla.) Convention Center – is up 10 percent in comparison to the 2003 show, according to a release this morning from the National Marine Manufacturers Association.

Show organizers from Professional BoatBuilder magazine and NMMA believe these statistics indicate that attendance at this year’s event will exceed last year’s, which totaled 4,300 verified attendees.

This year’s IBEX will host a record number of exhibits due to the 125,000-square-foot increase in floor space secured with the addition of Hall C at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The space has allowed for more exhibitors, increased booth sizes, and additional special events to be held at IBEX 2004. More than 780 companies have signed on to exhibit at this year’s show, and new companies are being added to the exhibition daily, organizers reported.

They attribute the higher level of interest in IBEX to these enhanced offerings and the increased number of exhibits at this year’s event.

“Between the hundreds of new exhibitors, the new IBEX Composite Pavilion, expanded International Pavilion and larger Outdoor Demonstration Area, thousands of new innovative products and technologies will be presented at this year’s IBEX,” show co-director Jennifer Thompson said.

Limited exhibit space is still available at IBEX for new manufacturers and suppliers of competitive boatbuilding technologies. Companies interested in receiving exhibitor information should contact Tina Sanderson at (802) 879-8324, or Anne Dunbar at (716) 662–4708, immediately.
