Hurricanes haven’t disrupted Fort Lauderdale show

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The 45th Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is on schedule for its Oct. 28 opening, and the recent hurricanes in Florida have had no negative effect on the show’s six sites or setup schedules, according to a release from show organizers today.

“The Fort Lauderdale area has been extremely fortunate not to have received any major impact from the hurricanes,” said Andrew Doole, vice president of Yachting Promotions, Inc., producers of the show. “The in-water and on-land show sites are in perfect condition and ready for ‘show time.’”

More than 1.6 billion dollars worth of boats, yachts, superyachts, electronics and accessories from every major marine manufacturer and builder will occupy over 3 million square feet of space on land and in water. The show runs through Nov. 1 and exhibit space is sold out.
