Satellite media tour to take place at Ft. Lauderdale show

NORFOLK, Va. – Rhodes Communications will produce a national satellite media tour this year from the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show to be hosted by Alan Jones, senior editor of Boating World magazine, Rhodes said in a recent release.

Jones will present the latest new boats and accessories from the show in live and taped interviews, which will be shown on television news programs across the country.

“The Fort Lauderdale satellite media tour will follow the same model that has been so successful for us at other major boat shows,” Jim Rhodes, president of Rhodes Communications, said. “Last year’s boating SMT aired on 175 local stations, as well as two national placements on ABC World News and Fox News, with a total Nielsen-documented audience of over 7.4 million viewers.

“It’s a very effective PR tool for getting broad-based national exposure for boating products on popular TV news programs. It’s as though you were touring the country trying to get your products shown on local TV news programs, but it’s all done from one location by satellite.”
