Nordskog Performance Products is sold

OXNARD, Calif. – Nordskog Performance Products, a marine instrumentation manufacturer, has been sold to a group of private investors, the company said in a recent release.

An investment group led by Southern California residents Michael McCarthy and Jake Steen purchased certain assets and liabilities of the company, which was a division of Nordskog Industries Inc. The sale was completed in late August.

The business was launched in the 1960s in Van Nuys, Calif. Nordskog Competition Center built specialized products for marathon and offshore powerboats, chief among them the Nordskog Speed-O-Meter. It also built various racing and engine accessories, complete engine packages, Datsun Z-car engine-enhancement kits, the Golden Venus luxury powerboat and fiberglass needle-nose drag and enduro race boats.

The name changed from Nordskog Competition Center to Nordskog Performance Products four years ago, when the business bolstered its line from the Nordskog marine instruments with a full line of boating gauges and an expansion into the automotive field.

The company has 10 employees.
