MIDDLETOWN, R.I. – The presidents of the International Sailing Federation, U.S. Sailing, and the National Marine Manufacturers Association as well as the executive director of the French Nautical Industries Federation will speak at the Sixth Annual International Sailing Summit, organizers said in a release yesterday.

The Sailing Summit – to be held Oct. 5–6, immediately prior to the Annapolis Sailboat Show – will also give attendees the opportunity to meet and hear from representatives of some of the world’s premiere sailing events, ISS organizers said.

Representatives from Key West Race Week, the Annapolis Sailboat Show, the Heineken Regatta, Antigua Race Week, the Strictly Sail Boat Shows, Summer Sailstice, Sail Melbourne and the ARC Rally will be on hand.

Experts from Boston Community Boating, Sail Newport, Milwaukee Community Sailing and The National Sailing Programs Symposium are also scheduled to attend, as are ESPN commentator and former America’s Cup sailor Gary Jobson and industry veterans Alistair Murray and Doris Colgate.

“This year’s International Sailing Summit truly offers a world-class opportunity to hear from many of the most exciting leaders in the sailing world,” said Scot West, executive director of Sail America, the U.S. organizing arm for this year’s ISS event. “The event is open to all, whether you’re actively involved working in the sailing industry, are a world class racer or just a passionate sailor or interested party who wants to learn how to promote the growth of sailing.”
