Donzi adopts growth strategy

SARASOTA, Fla. – American Marine Holdings, Inc. has begun a “calculated growth strategy” in its Donzi Marine division with the introduction of several new boat models, additional manufacturing space and changes to its management team, according to a press release from the company yesterday.

“In the coming weeks, we will begin to roll out the first in a stream of new models, including the most substantial investment in the High Performance segment – by any manufacturer – in at least a decade,” said American Marine Holdings chairman and CEO Lee Kimmell. “We will also introduce several important additions to our line of performance fish boats and cruisers. At the same time, we are completing a significant expansion of our production capacity.”

Personnel changes

Kimmel also reported several personnel changes within the company, including the appointment of Tom Kosto as vice president of sales for the company, where he will assume immediate responsibility for all facets of Donzi’s sales operations.

Josh Stickles, the company’s national sales manager since 2000, was promoted to the position of vice president of marketing, where he will oversee the marketing efforts of both Donzi and sister-company Pro-Line Boats in Crystal River, Fla.

Monte Howerton, previously of Tracker Boats and most recently Fountain Powerboats, has joined the organization as a Midwest and West Coast sales representative for both Donzi and Pro-Line.

Doug Valentine was named Donzi’s director of Product Development and Racing. He will coordinate with dealers, customers, and with the sales and marketing teams to conceive and implement new models, as well as oversee the ongoing enhancement of existing product. In addition, he will continue to head up Donzi’s Custom & Racing Division, according to Kimmell.
