SEVERNA PARK, Md. – The National Marine Electronics Association has begun accepting nominations for its annual NMEA Technician of the Year Award, which will be presented Oct. 23 at the banquet and awards ceremony of NMEA’s Annual Convention, the association reported in a recent statement.
Since 1994, the NMEA board of directors has honored an NMEA marine electronic technician for outstanding service in the field. Over the last 11 years, this award has become one of the most coveted and prestigious in the marine electronics industry, the NMEA said.
Last year’s recipient was Keith Ferraro of Sea-Trac Offshore Services, Inc.
Nomination forms are available from the NMEA national office and are due no later than Sept. 15. Once received, nominations are distributed for voting by NMEA’s board of directors and the Standards Committee.
