DuraTech acquires Color Art’s

GALESVILLE, Wis. – DuraTech Industries, a marine industry supplier of decorative name plates, logo’s and hull graphics, recently acquired Color Art’s of Racine, Wis., the company said in a recent press release.

Dave Pretasky, owner of DuraTech Industries, along with his executive staff and an investment group headed by Mike Pretasky of Skipper Bud’s, completed the acquisition on July 23. The addition of Color Art’s will greatly enhance both companies’ ability to substantially grow business in the marine industry, Pretasky said.

DuraTech has specialized in logos, gauge clusters, domed labels and metal applications. Color Art’s specialty has been large format graphics for the side of boats. In fiscal 2003, Color Art’s had revenue of $43 million and employed a staff of 230. Color Art’s executive staff will report to John Lyche, CEO of DuraTech Industries.
