International representation to double at IBEX

BROOKLIN, Maine — More than 60 companies from five continents will exhibit at the International Pavilion at the upcoming International Boatbuilders’ Exposition & Conference (IBEX), organizers reported in a statement yesterday.

This means representations from boat manufacturers, suppliers, and OEMs outside the United States will be twice as strong as that of the 2003 event, according to organizers.

Countries displaying their product-lines in the International Pavilion include Australia, Belgium, Greece, Canada, China, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, United Kingdom, and The West Indies.

“The expansion of the International Pavilion will allow U.S. boat builders to take advantage of the many technologies currently under development overseas,” said Carl Cramer, IBEX show co-director. “Boat builders who visit with international exhibitors will have the opportunity to put themselves ahead of their competition with these new products and processes.”

Among the international groups participating in the event are the Italian Trade Commission, which will bring 12 Italian boat building suppliers to IBEX, and the Economic Development Branch of Gold Coast City Council in Queensland, Australia, which intends to bring 20 staff members.

The expansion of the International Pavilion at IBEX was made possible through a 50-percent increase in exhibit space at IBEX.

Exhibit space is still available. Companies interested in receiving exhibitor information should contact Tina Sanderson at 203–531–4422, or Anne Dunbar at 716–662–4708.

IBEX, which is scheduled to take place Oct. 25–27 in Miami Beach, Fla., is owned and produced by Professional BoatBuilder magazine and the National Marine Manufacturers Association.
