MRAA applauds Scout’s warranty program

OAK PARK, Ill. – The new three-year stem-to-stern warranty program recently introduced by Scout Boats for all of its 2005 and newer models was applauded by the Marine Retailers Association of America in a release yesterday.

“This new warranty is a compliment to Scout’s dedication to consumer satisfaction,” said Phil Keeter, MRAA president. “The fact that dealers can handle all the warranty claims directly thru Scout is exactly the approach we were hoping for.”

In January of 2004, MRAA authored a stem-to-stern warranty position paper. In that paper, MRAA encouraged all manufacturers to adopt a warranty policy that provided consumers with a hassle-free experience on the servicing of their boats.

“Bow-to-stern warranties are all about making our customers happy, making them stay in boating and encouraging them to send us new customers,” said John Underwood, a Scout dealer and former MRAA chairman. “Manufacturers who take these steps are certainly helping the ‘Grow Boating’ initiative.”
