IBEX judges are selected
CHICAGO – The National Marine Manufacturers Association and Boating Writers International have chosen the panel of judges for this year’s IBEX Innovation Awards, NMMA said in a release this morning.
The awards will be handed out at the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference, produced by NMMA and Professional Boatbuilder magazine, to be held at the Miami Beach Convention Center Oct. 25-27.
Each judge serving on the awards panel has a particular area of expertise in the award categories. Serving as judges at this year’s event are:
The IBEX Innovation Awards honor the most innovative new marine equipment and processes in the marine OEM sector, recognizing those products that best meet the following criteria: innovative distinction from other products currently being manufactured; benefit to the marine industry and consumer; practicality and cost-effectiveness.
Up to nine products will be recognized during IBEX representing the following categories:
– Boatbuilding Methods & Materials
– Hardware Fittings (anchors, deck equipment & machinery, winches)
– Furnishings & Finishes (appliances, furniture, lighting, etc.)
– Mechanical Systems (air conditioning, heating, plumbing, pumps)
– Electrical Systems (AC/DC onboard and shore power systems, batteries, etc.)
– OEM Electronics and Electronic Systems (entertainment, navigational, onboard systems)
– Inboard Engines (including sterndrives, jet drives and Propulsion Systems)
– Outboard Engines (including outboard systems)
– Yard and Boat construction hardware and software (management programs, inventory and job flow software, etc.)
Deadline for entries is Oct. 8, however, earlier submission provides greater exposure among visitors to the IBEX 2004 Web site, www.ibexshow.com.
