Yanmar says business good in 2004
ADAIRSVILLE, Ga. –Yanmar Marine International has realized significant gains in its worldwide pleasure craft marine engine business compared to the previous year, according to a statement today from company president Geert Jan Mantel.
As a privately held company, Yanmar does not publish detailed financial results, but Mantel indicated that YMI continues to increase its market share, a trend that has been consistent for the past 10 years. He also said the US market has been particularly strong.
“It is very gratifying to see that all our product groups have far outpaced the generally strong marine market through the first half of this year,” said Mantel. “Yanmar Marine USA’s results have been extremely robust, far exceeding both the market growth and our expectations. Between Europe and the US, we’ve been pushing our factories to the limits, which we admit is a nice problem to have.”
