Sculley Boatbuilders buys new facility

WANCHESE, N.C. – Sculley Boatbuilders has acquired a new waterfront facility in Wanchese, N.C. it will use for multiple purposes, including the housing and testing of newly launched vessels, upgrading, refitting and warranty work, the company said in a recent release.

The facility, which was purchased for an undisclosed sum, will also allow Sculley to do finish-out work in the water to vessels before delivery. The site has two large bays and four boat slips and will act as an expansion to the company’s current plant, which is less than a mile away from the new building.

The first vessel to be docked at the new facility will be the first Sculley 64 followed soon after by the new Sculley 60 demo boat, the “Water Witch.” Both vessels will be the first to feature the new lines of Sculley Sportfishing Yachts, and will be debuted at the Ft. Lauderdale and Miami Boat shows, respectively, the company said.
