WHANGAREI, New Zealand – Boatbuilding company Austal has decided to unite the marketing of all its products under that name, the company said in a press release today.
Austal had previously promoted its live-aboard boats for the dive and adventure tourism markets under the banner of Image Marine, but decided those brands would benefit from association with the larger company name.
Sales manager Mark Stothard said both existing and future owners of live-aboards built by Austal stand to benefit from the reputation the company has acquired across a broad range of vessels, since commencing operations in 1988.
“Just as Image has been a byword for excellence within the live-aboard sector, the Austal name is synonymous with excellence throughout the broader international marine industry,” Stothard said. “Bringing the live-aboards under the Austal name will thus reinforce their existing reputation as a premium product to a wider audience.”
Although the name will be different, every step of the production process – from handling of the initial enquiry through to vessel handover and in-service support – will remain the same, according to the company.
