LITCHFIELD, Ill. – Sierra International, a marine engine and drive parts manufacturer, has signed an agreement to become the exclusive marine distributor of the SelocPro electronic dealer software program with West Chester, Pa.-based Seloc Publishing, the company reported in a statement today.
SelocPro is an Internet-based repair, parts and labor database that gives service technicians access to information from 12 engine manufacturers dating from the late 1960s through 2003. This includes the new parts database listing more than 5,000 Sierra marine parts, covering everything from hoses and filters to lighting, electrical components and engine parts. Unlike any other software system in the marine marketplace, each Sierra part is mapped to the respective manufacturer, year and engine model, according to Sierra.
“The combination of Sierra being the exclusive SelocPro distributor and our parts being listed in the database truly sets us apart from the competition,” said Piero Lucrezi, director of marketing for Sierra. “This agreement, coupled with our current dealer initiatives, is making us an even stronger business partner and more valuable resource for dealers, technicians and service centers.”
Shop owners using SelocPro can provide more cost effective repairs for their customers, the company stated. Now, when a technician performs a repair on a specific engine, parts are listed only for the engine that is being worked on. In addition to parts, SelocPro provides real world mechanical repair times for both fresh and saltwater applications.
Sierra is a business unit of Teleflex Marine based in Litchfield, Ill.
