Sierra takes its show on the road

LITCHFIELD, Ill. – Marine engine and drive parts manufacturer Sierra International has hit the road with what it calls its biggest new product ever, a custom 28-foot trailer and matching Chevy Silverado 3500, designed to inform and educate boat dealers, marine distributors and service centers around the country about the company’s products.

Dubbed the Product Focus Trailer, visitors step inside an air-conditioned interior to find various interactive kiosks and displays that explain Sierra’s marine products. The trailer can also be used for sales training seminars and business meetings, the company said.

“It’s only after visiting Sierra that dealers, boat builders and industry reps truly realize our full capabilities and the scope of our product offerings,” said Dennis Zirkelbach, director of marketing for Teleflex Marine – Sierra’s parent company. “As much as we’d like to, we can’t possibly bring every one of these people into our headquarters for a tour. This trailer will help us do the next best thing – it will bring Sierra to them.”

Staffed by Sierra sales and technical employees, the trailer will be a traveling road show for Sierra. It made its debut at the recent Marine Aftermarket Accessories Trade Show, then set off on a regional tour schedule – making appearances at top dealerships and events around the country throughout 2005.
