CCP to increase gel coats and resins prices

KANSAS CITY – The price of Cook Composites and Polymers’ gel coat and resin product lines will increase Aug. 16 by $0.07 per pound for resins and $0.09 per pound for gel coats, the company said in a release this morning.

All shipments made on or after the effective date will be priced at the new rates.

In announcing the pricing increases, Paul Colonna, vice president for CCP Composites, cited what he called “significantly increased” freight costs, the ongoing rise in raw material costs – particularly styrene monomer, maleic acid, methyl methacrylate monomer (MMA), propylene glycol, isophthalic acid, ethylene glycol, dicyclopentadiene (DCPD), and titanium dioxide (Ti02) – and shortages of some raw materials.

“We continue to stand by our commitment to long-term growth for our industry,” Colonna said. “Our first goal is to provide the best in both products and services to our valued customers.”
