BoatFix reports sales increase of 73 percent

MAYS LANDING, N.J. – Online marine retailer BoatFix, Inc. (BoatFix.com) has reported sales growth of more than 73 percent for the first half of 2004, according to a recent statement from the company.

Company president George Van Parys said it was the fourth-consecutive year that BoatFix Inc. has recorded growth of more than 50 percent for the first six months of the year.

“The boating public is obviously realizing the convenience and cost advantage of shopping online,” Van Parys said. “We continue to see an increasing consumer confidence in the safety and security of shopping online. We attribute 20 percent of our increase to this year’s excellent growth in the marine industry as a whole with the balance the result of increased market share.”

The online store was created in early 2000 and is now entering its fifth year. The company is also the exclusive sponsor of two boating forums, BoaterEd.com, dedicated to boater education and safety, and the BaylinerOwnersClub.org.
