NMTA produces Boatstock to raise interest in boating

SEATTLE – The Northwest Marine Trade Association is producing the second-annual boating extravaganza, known as Boatstock, July 24 – 25 in Renton, Wash., to get people on the water and discover Northwest boating, the NMTA reported in a recent statement.

New boaters will be encouraged to try out the sport. A Discover Northwest Boating Center will provide information providing potential first-time boaters with reliable, unbiased, personalized answers to their boating questions.

Experts will also be on hand, offering free clinics for kids and adults in beginning sailing from Hobie Cats Northwest, wake surfing from Wake Surfer Magazine, and wakeboarding and water-skiing from CWB Wakeboards and Connelly Skis.

More than 50 different boats will be in the water ready for free test drives, the NMTA said.

“Whether you are an experienced boater or new to boating, Boatstock is the perfect opportunity to take a new model or a different type of boat out on the water,” said Michael Campbell, president of the NMTA. “It’s a chance for family and friends to experience boating together.”
