MarineMax and Ferretti Group raise funds to fight cancer

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – More than 250 people attended a “Venetian Night” themed American Cancer Society fundraiser June 11 at Pier 66 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., co-sponsored by MarineMax and the Ferretti Group, the boating retailer said in a release yesterday.

Through a combination of silent auctions, individual and corporate donations, nearly $100,000 was raised for cancer research and the ongoing efforts of the American Cancer Society, according to MarineMax.

The event was chaired by Bob Fritsky, president of Ferretti Group USA, and Tony Pasca, president of MarineMax Motor Yachts.

“MarineMax is proud to be a part of the American Cancer Society, and are looking forward to next year’s event,” said Pasca. “When we were approached by ACS, we jumped at the chance to participate in such an important cause. Cancer touches families all over the world, and has touched my life personally, which only strengthens my commitment to finding a cure.”

Additional sponsors of the event included Robert Allen Law, Show Management, Warren and Freda Lorenz, C & L Insurance, Concord Marine Electronics, Memorial Healthcare System, Diamond Fast, Yachting Magazine, Florida Medical Center and Nauti-Tech.
