Sculley Boatbuilders to target tournament market

WANCHESE, N.C. – Sculley Boatbuilders has launched a new series of sportfishing vessels – the Sculley Tournament Series – that caters to the sportfishing community and more specifically, to the tournament sportfisherman, the company said in a press release today.

Jimmy Scully, the company’s marketing director and son of owner James Scully, said the new marketing strategy does not constitute any real change in the way Sculley does business, but that the company is trying to meet a perceived demand in the best way possible.

“We have gotten a lot of attention while fishing the BXRL series” he said. “People are beginning to realize that we make much more than just a pretty boat…our boats are truly as functional as they can possibly be.”

The new series of vessels, currently offered in 54- and 60-foot versions, will not include any interior work in the plans or price of the vessel. The client can commission Sculley to finish the interior to fit their specific needs. The vessels will in all other respects be identical in fit and finish to the rest of the Sculley fleet, the company said.
