Annapolis to host sixth International Sailing Summit
MIDDLETOWN, R.I. – The Sixth International Sailing Summit will be held in Annapolis, Md. Oct. 5-6, immediately prior to the Annapolis Sailboat Show, and is expected to draw an international crowd of industry and sport executives, administrators and enthusiasts, Summit organizers said in a release today.
This year’s event will offer an “incredible opportunity for educational development and networking, with the summit goal to share international best practices to increase participation in sailing,” according to ISS Chairman Alistair Murray.
The two-day summit will include a series of seminars, keynote presentations and special events featuring nearly 20 presenters and panelists from the U.S., Singapore, France, the U.K., Australia and Greece. Speakers include International Sailing Association Federation President Paul Henderson, NMMA President Thom Dammrich, Singapore Sailing Federation President Teo Ping Low, ESPN Commentator and America’s Cup Winner Gary Jobson, FIN Executive Director Phillipe Fourrier and U.S. Sailing President Janet Baxter, according to organizers.
“This will be a major gathering unlike any other in the sailing world,” Murray said. “By bringing together leaders and passionate sailing enthusiasts from both the sport and industry sector from all parts of the globe, we have a unique forum to address the opportunities associated with promoting and growing sailing at many levels.”
