BoatU.S. Towing adds Maine location

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – BoatU.S. Towing has named Frye Island Tow as its towing responder on Maine’s Sebago Lake, BoatU.S. Towing said in a release today.

Frye Island Tow, located on the eastern shore of Frye Island, is owned and operated by USCG licensed Capt. Paul Bourque. He operates a 24-foot Proline towboat, Luna, with twin outboards and a “BoatU.S. 2004 Approved Tower” sign on the side.

The vessel has a full complement of towing equipment, including extra fuel and battery “jump packs” to handle every breakdown from running aground to running out of fuel, according to the association.

“Lake Sebago is very popular with tourists – the biggest problem you see is running out of fuel,” said Bourque, who is also the captain of the Frye Island Fire Department, a charter captain, and a nearly 20-year resident of Frye Island.

Service is available seven days a week, 24-hours a day from May 1 to Oct. 15, and covers the lake south of the Songo Locks, the company said.
